NOXIOUS WEEDS / JOHNSON GRASS

Residents are responsible for treating noxious weeds and should be aware of them. Specifically, Liberty Township has a copious amount of Johnson Grass which is a noxious weed that is very aggressive and will take over farm fields, yards, etc. in a very short time if not controlled.  2018 publication from the Ohio Department of Agriculture that provides more information on noxious weeds.  Page 10 is specific to Johnson Grass. ZONING PERMITS REQUIRED FOR HOUSES, OUTBUILDINGS, FENCES, POOLS, DECKS, PORCHES AND SIGNS

  • Property owners who construct homes, additions to homes, barns, storage sheds, and other outdoor structures or accessory buildings are required to obtain a permit from the Zoning Department.  Outdoor structures include swimming pools, fences, porches, decks, and signs.
  • Commercial buildings, signs and other structures also require permits.  Please refer to the Zoning Department Page.
  • Permits may take up to 30 days for issuance.  Application forms may be obtained by contacting the Zoning Inspector by e-mail at libertytownshipzi@gmail.com or call 740-215-6085. Please include your name, address, telephone number and reason for your request.
  • Zoning permit applications are received by appointment only.  A copy of the zoning resolution, map and application procedures are on the Zoning Department Page
