CHARITY INFORMATION

Liberty Township Community Chest
The Community Chest was formed in 1948 and has remained a private charity under local control.  They are not affiliated with the United Way.  They are a chartered, bonded, non-profit, 501(c)(3), volunteer organization comprised of Liberty Township residents.  They exist to help our neighbors and local organizations with their needs.  Their monies stay within the Liberty-Union Thurston School district and the borders of Liberty Township.  The Community Chest operates solely on donations from the community.

The Community Chest does not intend to take the place of any of the various government relief agencies, such as Welfare, Food Stamps, etc.  They do work with the agencies coordinating services and filling the gap that is sometimes created by waiting periods or restrictions.  Monies are also used to help worthy local groups such as youth groups, school award programs, local parks, and many other community projects.  Their many requests include help with rent, utility bills, prescriptions and other medical expenses, school supplies and fees.

If you are new to this area, become a donor and help your new neighbors.  Donations are tax deductible.  Any support you can give is greatly appreciated.  Please make checks payable to:
